
Last Saturday, Redding Neighbors & Newcomers
kicked off their member-recruitment months with a spectacular Art, Wine & Cheese event. Both members and non-members gathered at Bethel Art Junction where they were entertained by the sultry music of Kelly Mittleman, a local singer who can be heard at kellysings.net. The event was fully booked and attracted more than 35 guests who all enjoyed the local art and wonderful wine that was provided by Mike Miller's company Raise the Bar. "This was an amazing evening and kudos to Barbara Murphy and Meredith Miller for coordinating such an elegant and successful event" said Jennifer Carello, the club's newly appointed Webmaster.
The club is now gearing up for their very popular Lobster Clambake, which is scheduled for July 23rd at Topstone Park. "This is our 12th year hosting the traditional New England lobster clambake which is always a club favorite" said club President, Cathy Kane. Tickets may be purchased at the June 26th Concert on the Green, which the club is co-sponsoring, or by contacting Meredith Miller at 938-2373 or
. This is an adults-only event and is open to all residents of Redding. The deadline for paid reservations is July 16.
Also on the schedule for July is a free Children's Concert where Tom Weber will be performing. This event is on July 9th from 3:30 to 5pm at the Redding Community Center. To register for this event please call Kim Hawks at 938-3773 or .
