The members of the newly elected board of the Redding Neighbors & Newcomers met recently to kick off planning for the new year. Incumbent president Cathy Kane ran the meeting with the 15 other board members where they discussed the exciting events and activities for the club and it’s members.
Every year the club hosts a variety of events from the Annual Lobster/Clambake to the Children’s Concert and interest groups such as Bunco, Mom and Tots Playgroups, and new this year, the Cooking Club. These activities provide the club’s members with the opportunity to experience the best that Redding has to offer in an easy way to meet new people and socialize with long time Reddingites as well as new Redding residents.
“We are so looking forward to 2006, I am just thrilled with how much energy and enthusiasm this new board has for the club,” said Ms. Kane.
RN&Ns is also involved in helping the greater community at large. One uniquely important upcoming event takes place on January 7th. The event is Redding Rebuilds, a night of Rock, Rhythm and Blues to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bridgeport, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina rebuild their lives.
Redding Neighbors & Newcomers is a social organization open to all Redding residents. Yearly dues are $35 per household and include monthly newsletter and membership directory. For further information, contact Lisa Pompeo, vice president of membership, at 938-7997.
