Interest Groups
Our Interest Groups meet on a monthly or bi-monthly schedule. All members are encouraged to attend these events! In general, it is not necessary that you RSVP to the Interest Group Coordinator, but it is helpful so they know how many people will be attending. See the links below to learn about each group and to see the upcoming events.
Book Club
Book Club meets the last Tuesday of each month. Join us to discuss a great book, share refreshments and socialize a bit! Each month we hold our meetings at a member’s home. As always, we welcome anyone who loves to read. Please join us for our discussion. Short of time? Consider books on tape and downloads to your iPod or MP3 player. .
BUNCO
Bunco is a group 12 women who meet once a month to roll the Bunco dice. This is a no skill game, just a nice fun evening with the ladies. If you are intersted in being a part of this group please contact us to be put on the sub list.
Cooking Club
The Cooking Club is an organization that consists of Redding Neighbors and Newcomers members who want to share great recipes and great food. We gather on the second Thursday of the month at a member’s home to try out new recipes and bond over a home-cooked meal. It is a fun new way to socialize with neighborhood friends. The purpose of the clubs is to bring people together for an evening of eating and camaraderie.
Critics Club
Critics Club meets the third Tuesday of every month. We usually meet at the Bethel Cinema at around 7:00pm. All members are welcome to join- males and females! Sometime we go out afterwards to discuss the movie over a glass of wine or appetizers.
Guys Night Out
We are looking for suggestions for activities for mens’ night out. This can be a day or evening activity. We are going to try to plan events at least quarterly.
Guys Poker Night
Guys Poker Night is a chance for the gentlemen of the group to “bond” by playing poker. The fellows meet the first Saturday of every month at the home of a member who provides light refreshments. For ALL LEVELS! Come relax, laugh and play poker with low stakes.
Ladies Night Out
Ladies Night Out is exactly that: a Night OUT for the ladies! We so need it! After running around all month, join your fellow ladies for some fellowship and fun. All members are welcome when Ladies Nights Out are held.
Neighbors Who Network
After a summer break, Neighbors Who Network is meeting once again each month for networking and business seminars on the third Tuesday of the month. Our calendar is planned with events from now until June which include presentations on business topics ranging from blogging for business to public speaking and of course, time to network.

Book: A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway
Description – J.Yardley, The Washington Post:
“Sometime in 1960 Ernest Hemingway completed a memoir of his years in Paris from 1921 to 1926. “If the reader prefers,” he wrote in a three-paragraph preface, “this book may be regarded as fiction. But there is always the chance that such a book of fiction may throw some light on what has been written as fact.” He did not submit the manuscript for publication, and the next year he was dead. …Three years later the manuscript was published as “A Moveable Feast.” The title apparently was chosen by Hemingway’s widow, Mary, who recalled words he had written to a friend in 1950: “If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”"

Ladies Night Out
“They’re Playing Our Song”
Neil Simon put the funny in this musical romance that follows the on-again, off-again romance of one very despondent composer and one very ditzy lyricist, as they try to create their own unique love song. Loosely based on the real-life love affair of composer, Marvin Hamlisch, and lyricist, Carole Bayer-Sager, this whirling dervish of a musical comedy will have you humming its songs between each and every laugh.
