Bess Williams

Co-President 2017-18

Bess, her husband, Chris, and their son, Leo moved to Redding in April 2016.  Wanting to be a part of the community, they shortly joined Redding Neighbors and Newcomers where Bess participated in Board Meetings.  A year later, she is now Co-President! “I’m very happy to be a part of a great group of neighbors AND friends.  There are many things we like to do for our community and want everyone to feel like there is a place and network available to them – whether just moving here or already established.” Feel free to contact Bess at Bess512@optonline.net


Daphna Arm

Daphna and Chris began looking for the perfect home in Redding in 2013 to be closer to longtime friends. Soon after moving in, Daphna attended her first book club meeting and fell in love with Redding Neighbors & Newcomers! While looking forward to monthly events, Daphna couldn’t wait to attend more activities and meet new friends.  Daphna loves being an elementary school teacher and working with children but is counting the days till retirement! Lindsay Menking & Kate Perry

Immediate Previous Presidents 2015-2016

Lindsay moved to Redding in 2014 shortly after getting married to her husband, Brad. Born and raised in Norwalk, Lindsay enjoys the sense of community that Redding had to offer, and the closeness to her family and job back in Norwalk. Brad was brought up in Nebraska and enjoys the open land and space in Redding. After adopting a dog and a cat, they joined Redding Neighbors and Newcomers to meet people in the area, and Lindsay quickly got involved and joined the board. She works at a hedge fund and is also an active member of the Westport VFW Auxiliary.

Kate first got involved with the club after moving to Redding in 2015, and is currently a member of the cooking club. She works on food security with a nonprofit based in Bridgeport. Kate lives in the north end of Redding with her boyfriend Lawrence, two personable cats, and nine hens and a rooster.

Bob Susalka

Treasurer

Bob moved to Redding from Westport in 2001 and is a Certified Public Accountant, with a tax practice in Redding. His wife Denise is an artist with a studio in the Nest, an arts facility in Bridgeport. They have two sons.

Steve completed doctoral studies in Neuroscience at the University of Virginia and lives with his wife and two daughters in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he leads the Association of University Technology Managers. The younger son, Rick, is an attorney in the Manhattan office of Chadbourne & Parke LLP doing project finance, especially in renewable energy.

In addition to serving RNN, Bob is currently Treasurer and a Board member of Connecticut STEM Foundation, Inc. Previously he was a Board member and Treasurer of the Fairfield Chapter of the Red Cross and First Night Westport/Weston Inc.

Pamela Friedman

Vice President of Membership

After living a busy and active life on the Upper East Side and Darien, CT, Pamela left the hedge fund world and her beloved coastal community and moved to Redding in 2010 to join her husband Glenn, a longtime Redding resident.  Shortly after moving to Redding, they learned they were expecting triplets! Pamela first became involved in Redding Neighbors & Newcomers when she joined the infant playgroup as a way to meet other moms. She soon learned about all the fun events that Redding Neighbors & Newcomers offers and proceeded to become fully involved! In addition to holding the role of VP of Membership, Pamela runs the 2011/2012 Playgroup, coordinates Ladies Night Out and maintains the club’s social media presence.
